Good or Bad?
The Industrial Revolution helped out the world in many ways. It was just the improvements people needed. It brought about many different inventions such as the Seed Drill, the horse hoe, the telegraph, the Spinning Jenny, and many more things that improved life for all Americans. The invention of the telegraph helped to send messages quicker to family who lived far away, so that they didn't have to wait and wait for letters to arrive. The new method of transportation, using canals and railroads, made traveling a lot faster and cheaper thus allowing family to visit someone that moved far away more often. Railroads made transporting armies across the country faster so they could defend their country faster.
The Industrial Revolution's outcome helped the nation very much, but the very beginning of the Revolution was another story. The working conditions were poor. The machines in the factory did not have saftey devices on them. The lighting in factories was mainly just the sunlight which did not always shine very bright or on all working stations very well. Also the working hours were very long and the pay was very poor. A lot of families had to make all of their children also find jobs in order to supply enough money for them to live off of. These working conditions were eventually straightened out with laws limiting the ammount of time in a day someone could work, a minimum wage was set, and there was codes in which the factory owners had to follow in order to keep running their factory.
